Overview

Application

This robust armoured instrumentation cable delivers reliable signal transmission for demanding industrial applications. The armoured overall screened (OS) instrumentation cable is designed for transmitting analog and digital signals within DC or AC networks in the process industries, including steel, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and mining. It is primarily used for control connections in valve and motor units, auxiliary station controls, and circuit breaker operations, providing an option for a fixed potential with respect to earth. The combination of an overall aluminum/polyester tape screen with a tinned copper drain wire protects against external electromagnetic interference, while the galvanized steel round wire armor ensures superior mechanical protection for both indoor and rugged outdoor installations.

Applicable Standards

  • Design Specification as per AS/NZS5000.3, BS EN 50288-7
  • Conductor: AS/NZS1125 IEC60228

Construction

  • Conductor: Plain Annealed Copper Class 2 Stranded Circular
